This app contains content about Plant Kingdom from sixth to ninth standard Tamilnadu State Board syllabus. It is especially developed for students with special needs ( Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired , Mild Intellectually Disabled and for general students category also) with audio, content, and sign language video. Content and audio will be in both English and Tamil. They can select language either English or Tamil and through profile ( whether VI,HI, or Mild ID)the content will be enabled.
Plant Kingdom is a content in Botany which should be taught to students in paying harmony with nature. It is a difficult content for students with special needs especially those with visual impairment,hearing impairment, and mild intellectually disabled. In this app audio is integrated with content as word document for visually impaired students. For hearing impaired students, sign language video is incorporated with same document type word content. The content will be in the form of the plants describing about themselves. Pictures will help the low vision students and hearing impaired students to identify the plant types like algae,fungi,bryophytes,pteridophyes,gymnosperms, and angiosperms. Visually impaired students can learn through audio. They can learn at their own pace. Hearing impaired students can learn either through sign language or from the given content. For mild ID , the content is modified to their level with more pictures incorporated with audio both in English and Tamil. Finally the students can attend the quiz comprised of multiple choice ,fill in the blanks, match the following,and one word questions. Marks allotted for quiz for VI and HI students is 60 marks and for Mild ID is 25 marks. Eventhough there are many apps , this is specially incorporated with audio, content, and sign language in both English and Tamil languages. This will help students with special needs to learn and understand the content easily by hearing the audio and looking video.
