ErgoChess (Ergo Chess) is a focused trainer built around a huge, curated puzzle library and a
progression that actually teaches. Start with simple back-rank mates and climb —
each checkmate pattern unlocks the next as you master it — until the full tactics
trainer opens up.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• Checkmate trainer — ~18,000 puzzles from mate-in-1 to mate-in-5, organized by
pattern (back-rank, smothered, and more) so you drill the ideas that recur in
real games.

• Tactics trainer — ~60,000 puzzles across 20 themes (forks, pins, skewers,
discovered attacks, sacrifices…), each with a difficulty band, sourced from the
Lichess puzzle database.

• Play vs the computer — a real Stockfish opponent with adjustable strength, plus
a built-in fallback engine so you can always get a game.

• Famous games — replay and guess the moves of legendary games, with a link to a
video breakdown of each.

• Daily puzzle & streaks — one puzzle a day to keep your streak alive.

• Track everything — a personal dashboard with your tactics rating, accuracy,
solves over time, mates by pattern, and tactics by theme.

• Friends & leaderboards — add friends, compare on a friends-only leaderboard,
and follow each other's activity.

• Favorites — save any puzzle or game to revisit.
