App works fine, not many features but it does allow me to set the temp, check the current temp, and lock the panel on the unit so my toddler can't mess things up by pressing buttons (which is a huge bonus in my opinion!). Not sure what else would even be needed. I had no issues whatsoever connecting the unit to the app (I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra). I guess if you're a super "big brother is watching" person, the permission requirements are a turn-off, but it didn't bother me.

Why is location needed to work this App. Haven't used the Cooler yet but while investigating the app I found others not happy with same. It's a cool concept. I'm thinking while the cooler is in the back of the car/truck and the power cable gets disconnected then a neat little app connected via Bluetooth could let ya know, or have someone lower the temp by phone if your driving a truck and it's in the bed.But, too bad it got stupid like almost all technology and we all know you can't fix stupid.

It can be frustrating at first but keep playing with it. I finally figured it out. You have to go into your phone's settings under the app where you can give it PERMISSIONS... Make sure you have the NEARBY DEVICES enabled. In the app under large appliance select CAR FRIDGE OR CAR REFRIGERATOR. Then continue through the prompts and it should connect. You'll also have to play with the enable location services.
