The Ancestral Rites Prayer/Annal Generator is an app that writes the prayer and an annal in accordance with traditional etiquette for you, simply by selecting the date of the rite and your relationship to the deceased. You can use it immediately without signing up, and all features are free.
■ Just select the date, and the rest is automatic
· Selecting a solar date automatically converts it to a lunar date, and the calculations are performed accurately based on the app's internal conversion table.
· It automatically calculates the year's sexagenary cycle (sexagenary cycle), the sexagenary cycle of the first day of the month, and the daily zodiac sign of the rite day, filling them into the prayer.
· You can quickly select the date using the Today, Tomorrow, or The Day After Tomorrow buttons, or change it via manual input if needed.
■ From Memorial Service (Gijesa) to Holiday Charye
· It supports formats for Memorial Service (Gijesa) as well as Charye for Seollal (Lunar New Year), Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), Hansik (Cold Food Festival), and Dano (Dragon Boat Festival).
· Titles and wording change appropriately according to the relationship between the chief mourner and the deceased, such as father, mother, grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, husband, or wife. · We create a joint memorial tablet (Hapseol Jibang) for two deceased individuals side-by-side on a single sheet.
■ Freely input names, clan origins, and official titles
· Simply select your surname or clan origin from our extensively expanded database, and the Chinese characters will be automatically filled in.
· A wide variety of options for official titles and social statuses are provided, allowing you to choose according to your family's formality.
· If you enter a name in Hangul, we will display candidate Chinese characters corresponding to that sound, allowing you to select the character you wish to insert.
■ 'Direct Writing' and Digital Rituals for Immediate Display
· You can display the completed prayer text and memorial tablet in full screen, placing them on the ancestral altar exactly as they appear on your mobile device screen.
· The memorial tablet is displayed standing upright on a frame resembling a traditional memorial tablet frame.
· After the ritual, we have meticulously recreated the virtual process of burning the paper (Soji) and scattering the ashes (Bunchuk).
■ Hangul pronunciation alongside Chinese characters
· Hangul pronunciations are written alongside difficult Chinese characters, allowing you to read them aloud exactly as they appear. · Pronunciation indicators can be toggled on and off, and their size, boldness, and color can be freely adjusted.
· In accordance with the custom of not using red text in ancestral rites, only gray tones are provided.
■ Paper suitable for cutting and printing within the app
· You can freely choose between traditional standard sizes (width 6cm × length 22cm) and A4 size.
· If you print directly from the app or save as A4, cutout lines and diagonal marks on the top corners are printed along with the paper; cutting along these lines creates a traditional standard ancestral tablet.
· The prayer text is also adjusted to fit on a single A4 sheet without being cut.
■ Customize font and font size
· You can change the Hanja font to your preference from three options: Haeseo, Myeongjo, and Gothic. We recommend the Haeseo font for prayer texts.
· You can increase or decrease the size of Hanja characters in steps, making it easy for the elderly to read.
■ Save and share
· Save the completed prayer text and ancestral tablet as a PDF document or PNG image to your device. · You can send it directly to family members via messenger or email.
· You can print the saved file on A4 paper using a home printer and use it as is.
■ Preserving Traditional Formats
· We faithfully reflect traditional prayer formats, such as the "Daedubeop" method, which uses separate lines to show respect for the deceased.
· We provide in-app guidance on how to write the prayer, how to write the *Jibang* (ancestral tablet), as well as paper specifications and cutting methods.
