About this app

Your wrist has the internet and precise GPS. Swiss timetables are accurate to the minute. TrainTime connects the two: live SBB train, bus and tram departures around you, with platform, delay and walking time, tracking whether you'll make it with every step. No more missing your train while you unlock your phone. Glance and go.

Nearby
The closest stations to you, found by GPS. No timetable searching. Each departure shows destination, line, platform, delay and direction of travel.

Track
Tap a departure to follow it. A live countdown against your walk to the station tells you whether you'll make it. The train formation diagram shows where to stand on the platform.

Favourites
Star a connection and it rides above the gold line at every station. Pin your home station to keep it first.

Watch
Native on Wear OS, Apple Watch and Garmin. Send a departure from phone to watch, and the phone shows live what the watch is tracking. Favourites, pinned stations and default mode stay in sync. The Garmin app pairs with either phone.

Routes
Share a trip from SBB Mobile and TrainTime picks up your connections. Save it as a route and get a reminder before departure, timed to your walk.

Widget
Add the widget for your next departures on the home screen. Tap it to open straight into tracking.

Modes
Trains, buses, trams, boats, funiculars and cable cars. Up to 5 nearby stations per mode.

Switzerland-wide
Real-time timetable data from opentransportdata.swiss: SBB (CFF/FFS), PostBus and regional operators, 51,000+ stations.

Privacy
No account, no tracking, no analytics. Your coordinates are processed in-memory and immediately discarded, never stored or shared. Full policy at traintime.ch/privacy.

Open source
Both the Train Time app and its API are open source.

What’s new

- Tracking keeps running with the app closed. A live notification counts down to your train with platform, delay and walk margin. On Android 16 it rides in the status bar.
- It counts down to when you must leave, then says Leave now.
- Tracking uses background location to keep that margin right, only while a session runs. GPS stays off until you are near.
- A shared SBB trip now tracks itself. New help: How tracking works, in Settings.
