About this game

Every microgame in Tiltjam is played with a different part of your phone. Almost none of them use the touchscreen.

Tilt it. Blow into it. Shout at it. Hold it perfectly still. Point it north. Flip it face-down. You get one instruction and about five seconds, and then the next one starts.

13 microgames across 5 phone inputs

Tilt — Balance the phone, freeze it dead still, flip it face-down, shake it, or roll it like you are pouring a glass.

Microphone — Scatter a dandelion, whisper, shout, or stay completely silent.

Light — Find a lamp with the ambient-light sensor.

Compass — Point north.

Vibration — Feel a rhythm through the motor and tap it back.

One boss

The Moth wants light and stillness at the same time. It turns up on rounds 4, 8 and 12, and it does not get easier.

A run is 12 rounds and 3 lives

The clock tightens as you go. Round one gives you time to think about it. Round twelve does not.

What it does not do

No ads. No in-app purchases. Nothing to buy.
No account, no sign-in, no email address.
Plays fully offline. No connection needed.
No energy meter, no daily login, no nagging.

The only permission Tiltjam ever asks for is the microphone, and only for the games that need you to make a noise. Say no and those games are skipped. Everything else still works.

Built for hands that do not all work the same

Motion-off mode skips every tilt and shake game.
Mic-off mode skips every microphone game.
Quiet mode skips the games that ask you to make noise, for the library, the bus, or a sleeping house.
Plus reduce-motion, no-flash, left-handed tilt mirroring, and a tilt-sensitivity slider.

Your first run

A short setup reads your phone's resting position and its light and noise baseline, so the games are tuned to your hand and your room instead of to an average. You can skip it and start playing.

Tiltjam is made by one person at Evinger Studios. It is a small, fast, honest thing: a phone doing everything except being a touchscreen.
Every microgame uses a different phone sensor. Tilt, blow, shout, point north.

What’s new

Bug fix: fixed an issue where declining the microphone permission for a mic-based challenge could still let that challenge play. Denying now correctly swaps in a different game instead.
