Foldline transforms trail planning into a quiet, tactile ritual by placing a folded topographic map across a sun-warmed picnic table directly on your screen. Colored plastic pushpins appear stuck into the creased paper, with green for campsites, blue for water sources, and red for viewpoints, giving you instant visual orientation. At the map’s edge, two worn wooden tally counters keep a live count of your total waypoints and campsites, shifting softly as you add or remove pins. The Add tab presents a notepad-like sheet where you jot down a name, choose a type, and scribble a brief note, then press a hiking boot sole icon to plant a fresh pushpin with a gentle paper wobble. Every waypoint you create is stored safely on your device, so your plans remain private and fully available without an internet connection. The Waypoints tab arranges all entries as small paper tags with string loops and colored puncture holes, making your list feel like a physical trail log. Tapping any tag lets you edit details, while a long press triggers a paper tear animation to delete it. When you reach a spot, marking it as visited stamps a subtle faded boot print onto the tag instead of a check mark, keeping the analog atmosphere intact. The Log tab gathers all visited waypoints sorted by most recently stepped, creating a simple itinerary of where you have already been. A small flat stone in the map’s corner holds down the page; a quick tap on it opens a rapid-add action so you can pin a new spot without breaking your planning rhythm. Three recently added waypoints glow softly on the map with a faint connecting trail line, helping you keep your intended route in view. The bottom tab bar uses four miniature compass roses mounted on a thin wood strip, with the active compass needle glowing warmly upward. Day hikers scouting rest stops, backpackers plotting multi-day campsites, and trip leaders organizing group waypoints will all find a natural, unhurried tool that matches how they already think about topographic maps. Foldline never requires an account, never syncs to the cloud, and never clutters your experience with checkboxes or digital noise—just a folded map, pushpins, and your next trail laid out cleanly on a wooden table.
