Every day, five pieces of information like we receive every day: a post, a headline, a graph, a video, a quote. It's up to you to decide what they're worth: true, false, or misleading? After each answer, the game reveals the deceptive mechanism and the clue that allowed you to spot it.
GAME OF THE DAY
• Five cards, three minutes, a new game every day
• Three answers: true, false (what she claims is false), or misleading (it's true, but presented to deceive)
• After the answer, an exercise: find the clue on the card, bring a truncated axis to zero, identify the extra word
• Then the explanation: why this answer was chosen, what was hidden, and the key to remember for next time
• Your series and your score, to be shared without revealing the answers
THE MECHANISMS
• Twenty cards: the headline that contradicts the article, the truncated axis, the photo taken out of context, the old news item republished, the invented quote, "a study shows," the fake expert, the website that imitates a media outlet…
• For each, what it is, examples, and the key to protecting yourself
CARDS DESIGNED FOR LEARNING
• The information is fictional: people, media outlets, and accounts are invented. Only the true cards contain a real fact, with its sources.
• The photos are recreated for the game: no real people, no real media.
• The method is described on the website, with the errors corrected.
NO ACCOUNT, NO DATA
No account, no ads, no trackers. Your series and results stay on your phone. The answers you submit are anonymous and are only used for the success rate per mechanism.
A REMINDER, IF YOU WANT
A notification at the time you choose, scheduled on your phone: no one knows when you play.
The game is also played on oeilcritique.fr, with the same cards and games from previous days.
