About this app

ExternUp is the externship and clinical-rotation tracker used by your college. It replaces paper timesheets with a clock that knows where you are.

FOR STUDENTS
• Clock in and out at your assigned site. Your location is recorded at those moments so your school can confirm you were there.
• Site monitoring during a shift: the app notices if you leave or return to the site boundary and lets you confirm your location with one tap if your phone got it wrong. Nothing is recorded in between, and monitoring stops when you clock out.
• Ask your supervising preceptor to verify a shift by email, text, or QR code. They don't need an account.
• Complete daily reviews and see your verified hours and progress toward your program's requirement.

WHO CAN USE IT
ExternUp is invite-only. Your college enrolls you and sends an invitation; there is no public sign-up. Instructors and administrators use the web portal at app.externup.com.

LOCATION PERMISSION
Programs that require site monitoring ask for "Allow all the time" location access so the app can notice when you leave the site even when it is closed or not in use. The app explains this before asking, records one location fix per boundary crossing plus clock in and out, and never tracks your route.
