Native Android rebuild: a fresh native client for faster startup, lower memory usage, and improved responsiveness across devices.
Messaging overhaul:
Chats now show newest conversations first and separate Private (one-to-one) and Group chats for easier navigation.
More reliable delivery and reduced crashes when reporting, sending replies, or creating direct chats.
Debounced taps and safer room creation to prevent duplicate chats.
Contact sync improvements:
Resilient, chunked contact syncing with a local cache so your contacts load instantly and sync consumes less memory.
Tap a contact to open or create direct chats quickly.
Comments & replies
What changed / removed (exclusions & compatibility notes)

This release replaces the previous web-app / hybrid client with a full native Android app. Some behaviors are intentionally different to improve reliability and performance.
SSO or third-party web-based UI flows that relied on the old web view integration may be removed or replaced with native equivalents. If you relied on a prior web-only pathway, you may need to re-login or use the in-app settings to reconfigure external account links.
Background sync semantics have been adjusted to reduce battery and memory usage — sync is now chunked and less aggressive. If you want immediate contact matching after a bulk-change on another device, open the Contacts sync screen to force a refresh.
In rare cases you may be prompted to grant permissions (Contacts, Microphone for voice notes, Storage or Photos for attachments). These requests are now requested on-demand and are required only for the related feature.

You may be asked to re-login after upgrading — keep your credentials handy.
The app will request permissions when a feature needs them; granting Contacts improves contact-based features and direct chat creation.
If you notice missing behavior compared to the prior web client, please use in-app feedback with a short description and we’ll prioritize fixes.
