Math Alarm Clock will not switch off until you solve a math problem. By the time the noise stops, you have done arithmetic — a far higher bar than finding a button.

SOLVE MATH TO WAKE UP

When the alarm rings, the screen shows a math problem with four answers. Solve it and the alarm stops. Get one wrong and you get a new problem, so tapping every answer in turn gets you nowhere.

Choose how hard it is and how many problems you have to solve. Easy is adding and subtracting two-digit numbers. Hard is genuinely difficult at six in the morning, which is the entire point.

BUILT FOR HEAVY SLEEPERS

If you have ever switched off an alarm in your sleep, or woken up an hour later with no memory of it, this is an alarm clock for heavy sleepers that makes that much harder to do.

There is no snooze unless you want one. A one-off alarm switches itself off after it rings, so a spent alarm never sits in your list pretending to be armed.

An alarm you cannot switch off is a bad idea, so the challenge steps down if you are genuinely struggling. After enough wrong answers, or enough time, a Hard alarm becomes Medium. Keep struggling and an emergency exit appears.

An alarm that does not go off is worse than no alarm at all, and phones make this harder than it sounds. Battery savers suspend apps. Manufacturers block them from starting themselves. Do Not Disturb silences things.

Math Alarm Clock includes a one-time setup that checks each of these on your device, says in plain English what each missing one costs you, and links straight to the setting that fixes it. Some manufacturer restrictions cannot be read by any app, so you can run a real 15-second test alarm and see for yourself whether one reaches you with your phone locked.
