FacoElche is a scientific meeting dedicated to phacorefractive surgery, held annually in the city of Elche, Spain. Since its first edition in 1999, it has always taken place on the first weekend of February and has been held at the Hotel Huerto del Cura in Elche since its inception.
FacoElche focuses on anterior segment surgery in general, but has a special emphasis on surgical procedures involving the lens, including cataract surgery and intraocular refractive surgery.
More than 800 ophthalmologists and vision professionals from across Spain and abroad attend the event, which features a program of presentations and lectures, satellite and accreditation courses, and a live surgery session.
FacoElche is a highly dynamic meeting with a strong practical and educational focus, which has established it as the third most important ophthalmological meeting held regularly in Spain, after those of the two main official societies.
