Welcome to Seedcake ๐ฑ๐ฐ, a secure and open-source solution for storing your Bitcoin seed phrases based on Bip-39. This project was born out of the need for a flexible yet secure alternative in scenarios where conventional physical storage methods like crypto steel ๐ค, paper ๐งป etc... are impractical or risky.

What Seedcake Offers
Seedcake serves as a digital complement to your physical storage methods, such as crypto steel or paper. This project offers an alternative when carrying or maintaining traditional physical methods isn't practical or feasible.
Why Physical Storage Is Still Important
Physical storage solutions like crypto steel serve as robust defenses against digital threats, providing an almost impenetrable barrier to your seed phrases. But they also come with their own sets of challenges.
Drawbacks of Solely Relying on Physical Methods
Confiscation Risks: Imagine fleeing an authoritarian regime. Could you trust a piece of crypto steel that might get seized at the border?
Natural Disasters: Think of scenarios like floods, earthquakes, or fires where your home could be destroyed, leaving your seed phrases inaccessible.
Human-Made Disasters: Consider armed conflicts that might result in your home being reduced to rubble, burying your seed phrases.
Embracing the Advantages of Digital
If we are comfortable entrusting our digital assets to cryptographic algorithms, then it stands to reason that these algorithms can also securely store our recovery phrases.
