Before using this Application, you need to use "adb tools" to grant permission, copy below command and exec it on a PC.

adb shell pm grant com.fei_ke.greyscale android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

This is the only app I have found that does what I want. Can turn it on or off just by clicking the icon. only downside is that you need to install adb on your computer to grant permissions. I'd recommend the lifehacker 'easiest way' article rather than getting sdk, wayyyy simpler.

Works perfectly! it would be nice to update the description with a guide on how to do this for other people: Install adb tools, enable usb debugging for your device, connect your device to your pc and make sure it is connected, then finally run that adb shell command in a terminal or command prompt window and then it should work.

Works perfectly for what I hoped it would do! Keep in mind this needs root or the adb permission because it's editing the build in setting in your device for the color space. Love the quick tile that android doesn't have.
