Sit across from a friend. Put the tablet flat on the table between you.
Now play tic-tac-toe with your hands instead of a pencil.
On your turn, press one finger into an empty square. That finger stays
there. It stays there while you take your next turn, and the one after
that, and all the way to the end of the round.
By the fifth finger your hand is a knot, your friend's hand is in the
way, and the only square left is the one you can barely reach.
Lift a finger and you lose. Let it slide out of its square and you lose.
Get three in a row and you win.
HOW A ROUND GOES
Tangerine plays first, from your side of the table. Turquoise plays from
the other side. You take turns pressing fingers into empty squares, in
order: little finger, ring finger, middle finger, index finger, thumb.
Nobody gets to rearrange anything. Once a finger is down, it is down.
A round takes about a minute. Nobody has ever stopped at one round.
WHY IT IS HARDER THAN IT SOUNDS
Everyone knows how to win at tic-tac-toe. Almost nobody can do it while
holding four fingers still, reaching across an opponent's wrist, with a
clock running.
The strategy is the easy part. Your hands are the problem.

GOOD TO KNOW
Built for tablets. Two hands need room, and your device needs to handle
nine touches at once.
Two players, one device, in the same room. There is no online mode and
there never will be. The other hand is the whole point.
No ads. No accounts. No data collected. Nothing that interrupts a round.
One optional purchase unlocks the extra modes, once, forever. No
subscription.
Best played standing up, badly, in front of people who are about to take
your turn.
Tic-tac-toe you play with your fingers. Place one, hold it, don't let go.
