About this app

WaveCrux is a waveform viewer for hardware (chip/FPGA) design engineers. It displays digital logic simulation trace files (VCD, FST, GHW formats) — think of it as a specialized file viewer for engineering data.

There is no account, sign-in, or registration anywhere in the app, and no purchases. The app is currently a free public beta of a professional engineering tool.

To test: launch the app and open the bundled sample waveform from the Welcome screen — no external files needed. You can also open any VCD/FST/GHW file via the Files app or the share sheet ("Open With WaveCrux").

All waveform files are processed entirely on-device; the app collects no data (see App Privacy: Data Not Collected).
Fast, modern waveform viewer for VCD, FST & GHW files. Public beta.

What’s new

Write on a waveform. Add a callout, arrow or shaded band to a signal at a moment in time; it stays glued to the edge it describes as you pan and zoom.

Notes remember the value the signal had when you wrote them, and flag themselves as drifted when a re-run changes it.

Notes stay with the file between sessions.

Share Annotated Waveform sends your notes and the trace they refer to as one small file, openable on desktop or in a browser.
