About this app

Application that allows you to consult the coffee fertilizer recommendation charts developed in the IDIAP, SENACYT, and Fundacodesa project: "Development of resilient technologies for coffee production in non-traditional areas of Panama."
It consists of several screens and sub-screens.
The welcome screen presents a short paragraph explaining what the Ferticafe-Panama application is and a button to advance to the main or home screen. This screen displays six icons representing maps of the country's provinces where research was conducted to create soil fertilization recommendation charts for coffee planting. Click on the map icon of the province for which you want information on fertilization recommendations for coffee cultivation. The Provinces screen shows general information about the provinces, some results of the percentage of nutrients found, and two additional buttons for two sub-screens: Recommendation and Analysis. Clicking the "Analysis" button opens a screen where you enter the values for Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium, which were provided by the soil analysis of the site where the coffee will be grown, that is, the province we selected. After entering these quantities, we press the Calculate button, and it will show us the recommendation chart for the soils of this site and with these quantities of these elements.
If we press the "Recommendation" button, it will show a general or standard recommendation chart for this selected location, without taking into account the specific values or levels of the soil elements.
At the bottom of the screen is the button bar, which has five buttons with their icons and the name of the functionality.
The first button from left to right, called "Analysis," will show a general or standard recommendation chart, without taking into account the location or the values of the elements.
The second button, called "Stress," will access a screen where we calculate the soil and crop water stress index based on the air, soil, and crop temperatures in degrees Celsius. This calculation will also give us the normalized vegetation index (NDVI). To do this, we must enter the leaf wetness value.
The next button, the central one called "Provinces," takes us to the main provinces screen.
The "Climate" button, fourth from left to right, gives us general information about the climate of the location where we are located, for example, temperature, wind, cloud cover, pressure, humidity, and others. To provide this information, it will ask for permission to access your location, only the first time we use it.
The last button, called "Coffee," presents information about coffee. This includes, in addition to general data, a table of agroclimatic ranges and a table of nutritional requirements.
