About this app

Cool Mist ATX gives you full control of your Cool Mist ATX outdoor misting pump straight from your phone — set schedules, toggle the pump on and off, and check runtime, with no cloud account required.

Two ways to connect:

- WiFi gateway (recommended) — pairs your pump to your home WiFi via the Cool Mist ATX gateway accessory. Control your pump from anywhere on your network, integrate with Home Assistant over MQTT, and receive over-the-air firmware updates automatically.

- Direct Bluetooth — connect straight to your pump from your phone, no gateway required. Works within Bluetooth range (about 30 feet). A great fit if you don't have a gateway, or as a fallback if your gateway is temporarily offline.

Features:

— Simple Timer mode: spray-and-pause cycle that runs every day, all day. Two wheel pickers for spray duration and pause duration. Perfect for "always on" patios.

— Advanced Timer mode: up to four time windows per day, with separate spray/pause cycles. Day-of-week selection, per-window validation, automatic gap closing when you enable a new window. Ideal for matching mister activity to peak heat hours or guest arrivals.

— Nonstop mode: continuous misting while the switch is on. Bypasses the schedule entirely for one-off cooling.

— Schedule preview on the home screen: see at a glance which days and time windows are active, and what your spray cycle is.

— Live runtime counter: track total hours your pump has been running.

— Bluetooth permissions are scoped to nearby-devices only — no location permission required, no location data collected.

— Privacy-first telemetry: the gateway sends a short anonymous report once an hour (pump runtime, current mode, firmware version, anonymous gateway ID) so we can support you better. You can turn this off any time from the Data Privacy screen — no questions asked.

— Home Assistant integration: configure your local MQTT broker and the gateway publishes pump state on standard topics. Works with Mosquitto, OpenHAB, Node-RED, or any MQTT-aware automation platform.

— Send Logs: share a diagnostic bundle with [e-mail] in one tap when you need help.

— Over-the-air firmware updates: keep your gateway current without unplugging anything or sideloading bin files.

— Android 8.0 (Oreo) or newer
— Bluetooth LE support (any phone from the last decade has this)
— WiFi access to your gateway if you want gateway features

Major architectural change: MQTT recovery now handled by a full state machine, delivering ~28x faster cellular pump-swap (from ~29s to ~1s in bench soaks), no more "Cloud Access failing" flicker on pump switch, and structurally eliminated the chain-doubling bug from prior versions. iOS parity coming.
