When you get a few spare minutes, dip into your family history research with the free Findmypast app. You can manage your family tree, discover historical documents, find new ancestors, add photos and more.

Ratings and reviews

The app is lacking significantly compared to the website. Hints appear and disappear seemingly at will. The tree view has been in "beta" for way too long and continuously shows nothing but an "unknown" blank profile. There is no way to navigate to a known person. You can modify but the functionality is severely limited. Overall, it is not particularly useful as it is right now and pales compared to other genealogical storage apps and even to the FMP website! Please make this app useful!

Disappointing; has the potential to be so much more. I provided feedback that was acknowledged, but nothing has changed. The linking in the app is better compared to the browser, however, that's about it. The app has an annoying way of taking you back to a default landing area when I've been looking at a particular family member, rather than back to the family tree where the family member is. It's so annoying in fact, I've started doing more and more in browser and less and less in app!

So I paid to get their pro subscription to have access to 1921 census. This tells me I need to upgrade! I am on the max subscription. Cannot recommend the app or their paid service.
