I'll admit, it's been hard not being able to access things like Facebook and YouTube these past couple of weeks from my phone, but I've noticed a major productivity boost as well! One thing that is kind of weird is that if enough data accumulates in the app, it won't block the listed apps properly until I clear the app data, log back in, and reconfigure the apps to block from scratch. Again, I'm loving it overall! Thank you for creating this!!!

So far so good after about 2 weeks of use. I leave the card in my car and it's just inconvenient enough to dissuade me from being distracted. One issue I've encountered is that I typically switch between a strict mode for work and a looser mode for home, and sometimes, even though I switch modes before scanning the card, it doesn't switch properly. Also, it'd be great to have a widget or a background process so that I didn't have to go into the app and click through 2-3 layers of menu to scan.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are glad the physical card is helping you stay focused. To help with the mode switching issue, we recommend deleting and recreating the schedules to refresh the app logic. Regarding your suggestion for a widget, we appreciate the feedback as we are constantly looking for ways to make the app more accessible

Overall, its effective at blocking apps, but it does not turn off notifications. For example, you can block your email app, but you will still hear non stop notifications. To stop them, you have to manually turn on Do not Disturb. I messaged Bloom about this and they said the only way to do it automatically was to buy yet another app like Tasker and set up automations. This seems like a huge oversight given the whole purpose of the card and the app. I hope they add this in a future update.

Thanks for your feedback! We’re glad Bloom helps block apps. On Android, notifications can’t be auto-silenced due to system limits, full automation requires tools like Tasker. We know this isn’t ideal and are exploring easier ways in future updates.
