FinFlo Junior is a parent‑monitored money app built for children. Kids get a real wallet with real spending power inside the FinFlo network — and parents stay in control of every shilling.
Built for families
Parents create child accounts from their own FinFlo app, set spending limits and category rules, and approve anything that needs a closer look. Kids sign in to FinFlo Junior with their own username and PIN — no SIM, no email, no phone number required.
How kids use it
Spend with confidence — Kids scan an agent's or merchant's QR code, pick a reason (cash‑out from an agent, or a purchase category for merchants), enter the amount, and tap send. The parent sees who, what, why and how much before any money moves.
Ask Parent — Need money? Kids type an amount and a reason; their parent gets a push, WhatsApp and email instantly and approves with one tap.
Save toward a goal — Piggy banks let kids set targets ("UGX 50,000 for a bike") and watch progress with a colourful progress bar. Money in a piggy bank is locked away from everyday spending.
Earn through chores — Parents post chores with a reward. Kids tap "I did it!" (optionally with a photo). Parents review and the reward lands in the kid's wallet immediately on approval.
SOS, always one tap — From the login screen kids can reach their parent across three channels at once (FCM push + WhatsApp + email) and the dialer opens automatically. Works even if the kid is signed out, even if they have no airtime.
How parents stay in control
Every spend the child makes — even auto‑approved ones — sends the parent both a push notification AND an email with full transaction details.
Set a per‑transaction auto‑approve limit. Anything above it queues for the parent to accept or decline.
Per‑child daily, weekly and monthly spending caps.
Allow, block, or require approval per category (Food, Transport, Games, Education, Entertainment, Airtime & Data, Gifts, Savings, Other).
Restrict spending to whitelisted recipients only, parent‑only, or any FinFlo user.
Schedule recurring allowance (daily, weekly or monthly) that auto‑credits the child's wallet — skipped automatically if your wallet is low.
Review pending approvals and money requests in one place; approve with a PIN.
Safe by design
Children's PINs are stored as bcrypt hashes. Five wrong PIN attempts lock the account for five minutes; three wrong attempts also alert the parent.
The parent's PIN is required for every state‑changing action — adding a child, setting limits, approving a chore, sending an allowance, approving a spend, declining a request, resetting the child's PIN.
Child accounts cannot send money to other child accounts and cannot withdraw to external services. The kid can only transact within the FinFlo network and within rules the parent sets.
No advertising, ever. No third‑party trackers. No data sold.
What FinFlo Junior is NOT
It is not a bank account. Funds are held in your existing FinFlo wallet, governed by FinFlo's adult terms of service.
It is not a public payments app — your child cannot accept money from strangers. Only the parent and parent‑whitelisted contacts can interact with the child wallet.
It does not require any KYC documents for the child. The parent's existing FinFlo account is the source of trust.
Who it's for
Parents who want their kids to learn about money in a real‑world way without losing oversight.
Kids ages 6 and up — the interface uses big rounded buttons, a numeric keypad, and friendly language. No reading‑heavy menus.
