FireGuard is a personal safety companion for fire awareness, natural hazards, severe weather and emergency preparedness.
It helps you stay informed with active fire information, weather-based risk insights, satellite fire detections, local forecasts, location-based alerts and emergency tools in one mobile app.
KEY FEATURES
Fire and hazard awareness
- Active fire incident awareness where available
- Wildland and urban fire context
- Interactive fire and hazard maps
- Satellite thermal hotspot layers from public sources
- Location-based proximity alerts
- Fire-weather risk insights
- Earthquake, flood and winter-hazard awareness where data is available
Satellite fire detection
FireGuard uses public satellite-derived fire information from sources such as NASA FIRMS, VIIRS, MODIS and Copernicus EFFIS.
Satellite observations provide additional situational awareness, but they do not always represent confirmed fires. Clouds, smoke, industrial heat sources, satellite timing and sensor resolution may affect detections.
