Civil Twilight

Civil twilight is the period just before sunrise or after sunset when the sun is between 0 and 6 degrees below the horizon. Even though the sun is below the horizon, there’s usually still enough natural light to see clearly outdoors, and the horizon and major terrain features are often visible. That makes civil twilight a more practical tool than sunrise or sunset when planning outdoor activities.
