About this app

First Man Photography is the complete app for outdoor photographers. Watch the films, learn the locations, find the light and carry the whole kit into the field. Built by landscape photographer Adam Karnacz and supported entirely by the people who use it, free from ads, algorithms and clickbait.

FREE FOR EVERYONE

- Every film and vlog, free from ads and sponsors
- The masterclass courses in full. The landscape photography masterclass, the water drop masterclass and the printing masterclass
- The Wire, a daily photography news feed gathered and curated by First Man
- The print and book store

MEMBERSHIP

Membership opens the members area, built for photographers who actually go out and shoot.

- Field guides to real locations, with maps, positions, timing and the film from the shoot
- Member field guides. A growing library of places contributed by the membership itself, published under the contributor's name, and yours can join them
- The ultimate weather tool for photographers. Rendered forecast maps, live radar, cloud by altitude, inversion calls on the summits, temperature, pressure and wind
- The light ahead. Eight days of dawn and dusk prospects for any spot on earth
- A journal, scouting and a field camera that keep working with no signal in the hills
- The kit bag. Exposure, tides, night, calendars, depth of field and timelapse tools
- The Wall, the community noticeboard and a monthly critique
- Seasonal projects. One brief a season, worked through in your journal and submitted for the filmed critique
- The films unlocked properly, with picture in picture and background listening
- Eve, an assistant who knows the field guides, talks photography whenever you need her, and gives honest critique on your photographs
