FirstVerse is a simple daily Bible companion built to help you stay close to Scripture in the middle of a noisy world. It gives you a quiet, focused space to sit with one verse at a time and let it sink in.

• World English Bible British Edition (WEBPB) — clear, modern English

Three reading modes
Daily Verse: A curated set of 365 verses to encourage your faith throughout the year. Each night at midnight, a new verse is chosen from the collection and lightly randomised so your daily reading stays fresh and meaningful.
Random Verse: Discover unexpected treasures from anywhere in Scripture, with intelligent sentence breaks for natural reading. Refresh for another verse, or filter by specific books, the Old Testament, the New Testament, and other collections.
Explore: Read through all 66 books from Genesis to Revelation with chapter and verse navigation. Paste a reference like “2 Timothy 3:16–17” to jump straight to any passage. Each verse card includes a quick-navigate icon to open that verse in Explore, and you can share verses using Android’s system share menu.

Bible versions that stay in sync
• Default translation: Explore opens in WEBPB by default
• Switch anytime: Change translation in Settings
• Stays in sync: Your chosen translation applies across all modes until you switch again

Semantic Search (on-device)
Search that understands meaning — not just keywords:
• Meaning Mode: Find verses with similar themes and ideas, even when they use different words
• Mentions Mode: Blend meaning with keyword matching to surface the best fit
• Cross-Links: Discover related passages that share theological connections or narrative parallels
• Results: View up to 30 results (two pages) and open any result directly in Explore

All searches run entirely on your device — nothing is sent to external servers.

Personal Library
Build your own collection of meaningful verses:
• Saved: Bookmark verses from Daily and Random modes and organise them with your own labels
• Weekly: Automatically gathers each day’s curated verse plus any random verses you viewed (refreshes weekly)
• Colour bookmarks: Four colours (Gold, Rose, Sage, Olive) for quick access
• Export & backup: Export your favourites and weekly history to move to another device or keep a backup

• Dawnlight theme: Soft, warm design tuned for comfortable reading (dark mode planned for a future release)
• Thoughtful typography: Clear, carefully chosen type for reflection and ease of reading
