About this app

FishByte is the app anglers use to fish a catch-photo-release tournament. Register for an event, measure and submit every fish from the boat, and watch the leaderboard move as judges approve catches.

PICK YOUR SERIES
Choose the tournament series you fish from the directory inside the app. FishByte takes on that series' colors and shows you its schedule and nothing else.

REGISTER AND PAY IN THE APP
Browse the published schedule, read the rules that apply to each event — bag limit, allowed species, tournament hours — and register. Where a series collects entry fees, you pay in the app.

SUBMIT A CATCH IN UNDER A MINUTE
Two photos per fish: one on the bump board, one hero shot. Add the species and the length in quarter-inch steps, and the app records the GPS fix and the time alongside them. If your series requires a release video, record it in the same flow.

WORKS WHERE THE FISH ARE
Capture never touches the network. Catches queue on the phone, compress as you take them, and upload the moment a signal comes back. If the connection drops partway through an upload, the next attempt picks up at the file it stopped on — there is nothing to resubmit.

LENGTH BECOMES WEIGHT, IMMEDIATELY
One published chart turns a measured length into a tournament weight, covering 14 to 34 inches in quarter-inch steps. The phone and the server run the same chart, so a fish still sitting in the queue already shows the weight it will score.

LIVE LEADERBOARDS AND SEASON STANDINGS
Standings recompute as catches are approved. Follow the day's board, your team's total, and where you sit in the season-long points race.

KNOW YOUR DAY BEFORE IT STARTS
Your boat number, your flight and your blast-off time sit on your registration. Decisions on your catches, messages from the director, and schedule changes arrive as notifications.

TEAM TOURNAMENTS
Form a boat, have your partner join with a short code, and every rostered angler's approved catches score for the team.
