Fish Swami is a fishing log and fishing journal for anglers who want to catch

Your account also works in any browser at https://www.fishswami.com, and
everything syncs both ways, automatically. Log catches from the boat or the bank on your phone, then sit down at a real keyboard and big screen at home to review your season, plan the next trip, and dig into your fishing stats. Your fishing journal is backed up in the cloud - not trapped on one phone that can end up at the bottom of the lake.

GPS TRACKING AND WAYPOINTS

GPS tracks are created automatically while you fish, so you can see exactly where you covered water. A GPS location is recorded with every fish you catch, so your honey holes are saved forever. Drop waypoints for access points, parking, and spots you want to come back to.

WEATHER AND WATER DATA, COLLECTED FOR YOU

Weather is captured automatically with every catch. Where it is available, water
level and water temperature are pulled in and saved with your fishing log, so you can look back and see what the river was doing on the days you did well.

WORKS OFFLINE

Your entire fishing log - past trips, patterns, waypoints, photos - is available
in the app with no signal at all. Create new logs offline and everything syncs to
the server the moment you are back in service.

OFFLINE MAPS

Heading somewhere without cell service? Download maps ahead of time and use them while you fish, when reviewing waypoints, and anywhere else maps appear in the app.

FLIES, LURES, AND PATTERN BOXES

Save the flies, lures, and bait you actually use, with size and color, and
organize them into pattern boxes - the digital version of your fly boxes and
tackle box compartments. Adding a catch takes a couple of taps.

PHOTOS

Attach photos of the fish you caught and the water you fished to every log entry.

CATCH ANALYTICS

See how many fish you caught, how many days you fished, which flies and lures produced the most fish, your top fishing locations, and more.

SHARING AND FRIENDS

Mark each fishing log public, protected, or private. Public logs are visible to
anyone, protected logs only to your fishing friends, and private logs only to
you. Add other Fish Swami members as friends and get notified when they post a new log or comment.

Not a bad app, but if it was able to move GPS positions so you can add fish catches to an event after you get off the water and are done fishing. It would be nice to be able to add catches and set the GPS position manually, and not just at your current position. And the Save button on waypoints isn't working.I'd probably get the paid subscription if that worked.

I started using the Fish Swami website a few years ago and found it useful but I struggled to remember details from the days fishing. The app solves that by keeping track of when and where I catch each fish. Data entry is streamlined and easy. Fish Swami automatically gathers water level and weather information and shows you how it changed over your fishing outing, which is something I've always wanted to do. If you are a serious angler then you need to use the Fish Swami App.

Not bad, but I can't add waypoints. It says to drag and drop the pin on the map to select a waypoint. But the pin can't be moved. It's a bit frustrating since waypoints would be the major advantage of using the app if it was possible.

What’s new

Fish Swami now supports creating pattern boxes - pattern boxes are like your individual fly boxes or compartments in your tackle box. They can be filled with flies, lures, or bait patterns that already have a size and color set, like a "#6 Black Woolly Bugger" or a "1/6 oz Firetiger Rooster Tail". Use pattern boxes to organize your commonly-used flies, lures, and bait so it's easier to enter your catches when adding a fishing log.
