About this app
ÆON is the companion app for the ÆON unit, the instrument that replaces your motorcycle's original gauge cluster.
One unit, four families of motorcycle. Depending on the firmware version, the ÆON talks to your machine's ECU or reads the harness signals directly.
COMPATIBILITY
- BMW K Series — K1, K75, K100, K1100 (1982-1997), K1200 (1997-2005) and first-generation four-valve R Series twins, 850 to 1200 cc (1993-2006). Fits in place of the original cluster.
- Classic motorcycle — any machine with no ECU and no data bus, through the 24 analogue inputs on the input block.
- Buell — fuel-injected tube-frame X1, S3, S3T (1999-2002) and XB (2003-2007), through the 4-way Deutsch diagnostic connector, 9600 baud serial link.
- Harley-Davidson — Sportster, Dyna, Softail, Touring, V-Rod over the J1850 VPW bus, and recent models over the CAN bus.
THE DISPLAY
The Round version has a 2.1-inch round LCD panel, 480×480 IPS, with a touch interface that stays readable in direct sunlight. The Oval and Ellipse versions are set up entirely from the app.
WHAT YOU SEE
- Engine speed
- Road speed, from an inductive or Hall-effect wheel sensor
- Gear position (1 to 6) and neutral light
- Fuel level and reserve, with an adjustable trigger threshold
- Engine temperature and oil pressure
- Battery voltage and charge warning light
- Indicators, main beam, sidelights
- ABS warning light
WHAT YOU SET FROM THE APP
- Wheel circumference and pulses per revolution, to calibrate speed and odometer
- Tachometer revolutions
- Carrying over the reading from your original odometer
- Metric or imperial units
- Start-up screen, chosen from several designs
- Two relays: an ON/OFF contact to power an accessory, and a one-second timed contact
- Trip function and reset
- Keyless option
CONNECTION
The app connects to the unit over Bluetooth Low Energy. Once paired, it transfers your settings into memory and puts the relays and the trip within reach from your phone.
WIRING GUIDES
The installation guides are built into the app, with interactive diagrams: touch a connector cavity to see its wire and what it does. They work offline, out in the garage, in English and French.
