About this app

Fixpoint is an RSVP reader for books, articles and your own documents. Text appears one word at a time at a fixed point, with a highlighted letter to guide your gaze. Choose a comfortable pace and read with fewer distractions. Staying with the text may help you absorb and remember it; understanding and retention depend on the material and your reading speed.

Paste text and save it with an optional title, or open TXT, Markdown, HTML, RTF, DOCX, EPUB and PDFs with selectable text. Scanned PDFs need OCR first; DRM-protected books are not supported.

Adjust speed from 100 to 1,000 words per minute. Pause, step back, resume from your saved position or show the current sentence while paused. Difficult-word and passage slowing has a 0–100 strength control, with individual switches for detected text categories. Punctuation pauses and estimated reading times help you find a pace that suits the document.

Choose fonts, text size, colours, focus guides and reading backgrounds. Optional ambient sounds and white, pink or brown noise create a reading atmosphere and pause with playback.

The interface and optional text-preparation prompt support 82 languages; the app follows your device language and falls back to English. The prompt can be copied to an external AI assistant; Fixpoint does not send your books to an AI service.
