Flash Share sends photos, videos, documents and whole folders straight from one Android phone to another. Nothing is uploaded: files go phone to phone over your Wi-Fi, with no account, no sign-in and no cloud in between.
FAST FOR BIG FILES
For large transfers the two phones connect radio to radio with Wi-Fi Direct, so the data does not have to pass through your router. The transfer screen shows the speed as it is measured, the progress and the time left, and a summary of the whole transfer when it is delivered.
PRIVATE AND VERIFIED
• Every connection is encrypted with TLS 1.3.
• The first time two phones connect, both show the same pairing code so you know you are sending to the right phone. After that they recognise each other.
• Every file is checked with SHA-256, so what arrives is exactly what was sent.
• The person receiving always chooses whether to accept.
SIMPLE TO USE
• Open Flash Share on both phones. Nearby phones appear on their own.
• Choose one file or many, or send a whole folder.
• Share from any app: tap Share and pick Flash Share.
• Pause and resume a transfer. An interrupted transfer picks up where it stopped.
• Received files are saved in Download/Flash Share, ready to open in your other apps.
• Activity keeps a history of what you sent and received. Swipe a transfer away to remove it.
• Pick a colour for the whole app, or let it follow your wallpaper on Android 12 and later.
WHAT YOU NEED
• Two Android phones running Android 10 or later, both with Flash Share.
• Both phones on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks and networks with "AP isolation" turned on keep phones from seeing each other.
PERMISSIONS
• Nearby Wi-Fi devices (Android 13 and later), or location on Android 10 to 12: Android requires this to set up Wi-Fi Direct. Flash Share does not use your location.
• Notifications: to show transfer progress and incoming transfers.
Flash Share is free and supported by ads.
