About this app

Flash STB 8K turns your Android TV, Google TV or Android device into a set-top box player.

Flash STB 8K is a player, not a television service. It arrives empty. You enter the portal address or playlist your own provider gave you, and the app plays it with the remote already in your hand. No extra box, no extra cables, no extra HDMI input.

WHAT IT DOES

Hardware-accelerated playback
Uses your device's native decoder for H.264, H.265/HEVC and MPEG-TS, so 4K plays without the stutter software decoding introduces.

Portal and playlist support
Connects to set-top portals or standard playlist formats, whichever your provider supplies.

Timeshift and archive
Pause, rewind and jump back through catch-up, where your provider supplies it.

Programme guide
Renders the EPG your source provides, with a now-and-next strip and a full grid.

Audio and subtitle tracks
Switch language tracks, select subtitle streams and adjust audio delay. Passthrough for multichannel audio where the device supports it.

Built for the remote
Full D-pad navigation, designed for the ten-foot interface and tested on real living-room hardware. Works on phones and tablets too.

Credentials stay on your device
Your source address and login are held in the app's local storage on your own hardware.

WHAT IT IS NOT

Flash STB 8K does not provide, sell, host, resell or bundle any television service, stream, channel, playlist or electronic programme guide. It contains no content of any kind. You must already have a service from a provider of your choosing, and you are responsible for ensuring you hold the rights to the content you access through it.
