About this app

Fledgely Child is the companion app for Fledgely, the transparent parental-control and family-safety app. It is the SECOND HALF of a two-app system: the Fledgely parent app is installed on the parent's phone, and Fledgely Child is installed on the child's phone. Both apps are required for Fledgely to work — the parent app is where you set rules and view activity, and this child app is what applies those rules on your child's device.

Fledgely Child runs openly and with consent. Your child always sees a permanent notification while it is active. It is not hidden, and it never pretends to be a different app. This is honest, consent-based parental monitoring for your own children — not spyware.

WHAT FLEDGELY CHILD DOES ON THE DEVICE
- Live View: lets a parent in your family see this phone's screen live, to help keep the child safe (always with a visible notification).
- Porn and web filtering: blocks porn searches and adult sites before they load.
- Screen time and app limits: applies the daily limits, bedtimes and routines you set in the parent app.
- App lock: locks or blocks the apps you choose, and helps keep risky downloads off the phone.
- Activity reporting: reports screen time and app usage so the parent app can show clear weekly insights.
- Family messages: shows the messages you send from the parent app.

HOW FLEDGELY USES THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
Fledgely Child uses Android's Accessibility Service to provide its core child-safety features: showing a parent the phone's screen (Live View), helping apply the content, app-lock and screen-time rules you set, flagging unsafe searches, and preventing the app from being removed without a parent. Your child agrees to this during setup, a permanent notification is always shown while it is active, and what it accesses is shared only with your own family through Fledgely — never sold and never hidden. Live View can be turned off at any time.

HOW FLEDGELY USES THE VPN (CONTENT FILTER)
The porn and web filtering runs through an on-device VpnService that stays entirely on the phone. Fledgely uses this only as a local DNS content filter to block unsafe sites for the child. It does not route your traffic through any remote server, and it is not a general-purpose or anonymising VPN.

HOW TO SET IT UP
1. Install the Fledgely parent app on the parent's phone first.
2. Install Fledgely Child on the child's phone.
3. Pair the two using the code shown in the parent app.
You need both apps installed and paired for the monitoring and controls to work.
