About this app

STS is a vocabulary learning app that uses the daily streak mechanism to build learning momentum, a phenomenon where consistent daily study becomes easier to maintain the longer you've kept it going, because the habit becomes part of your routine rather than an effort.

A 3-day streak is easy to break; a 21-day streak carries enough psychological weight that most users naturally want to protect it. STS's streak counter leverages this escalating commitment: the higher your streak, the more motivated you are to study each day just to keep it alive.

This momentum effect is why STS's streak counter is designed to be visible and prominent, not buried in settings. Seeing "Day 15" on your stats screen is an immediate, daily reminder of the habit you've built, one you're unlikely to want to sacrifice for the sake of skipping a session.

Achievements tied to streak milestones reinforce this momentum at specific intervals, 7-day, 30-day, or longer streaks unlock achievement badges that commemorate the discipline you've demonstrated, adding game-like satisfaction to the intrinsic learning reward.

Over months of consistent daily study, STS's streak-driven momentum produces compounding vocabulary growth: the daily sessions may feel small in isolation, but the cumulative total of cards studied and knowledge levels reached tells a story of genuine, lasting language development.
