About this app
FlightPlanOnline is a VFR flight planning and moving map app for pilots
flying in South Africa.
Plan a route by pressing and holding the map. Points snap to aerodromes and
VFR reporting points, so you get Steel Works rather than a bare coordinate.
Drag any point to move it, and the navigation log — headings, distances,
times and fuel — is worked out as you go.
IN THE AIR
• A moving map that turns with your track, or stays north-up
• Controlled airspace, danger, prohibited and restricted areas, with the
frequency for the airspace you are in and the one ahead of you
• Warnings before you reach airspace, spoken aloud for the severe ones
• The wind at the aeroplane
• Your position in the words a controller expects, in one tap
• A countdown to last light
BEFORE YOU GO
• Weight and balance per flight — passengers, bags and fuel belong to the
trip, not to the aeroplane. Set the arms, limits and envelope up once
• NOTAMs
• Aerodrome information: runways, frequencies, fuel, contacts
• Offline maps, for flying where there is no signal
AFTER YOU LAND
• Your logbook entry written for you, including night landings worked out
from last light rather than assumed
• The flight recorded and replayable
SHARING
• Send a live tracking link so somebody on the ground can watch you arrive
• Fly with friends and see each other on the map
FLIGHT SCHOOLS
• Instructors see the lessons booked to them, mark each exercise out of five
from a sheet over the moving map, and write the debrief when they land
• It reaches the school's records without anybody retyping it
• Works with no signal — marks are kept on the phone and sent when you are
back in coverage
RACE EVENTS
• Enter the join code your organiser gave you and the app records your track
for scoring. No account needed

plans, aircraft, pilots and logbook are the same on the phone and on the web.
Not for use as a primary means of navigation. Always check against current
official charts, NOTAMs and your aircraft's POH.
