About this app

Add fold animations, glass effects and page turns to your foldable phone. Preview and adjust them in Studio. FlipFold also counts unfolds and shows how you use your inner and cover screens.

• Soft Shade: gentle shading along the fold.
• Clear Glass: soft blur with a light reflection along the crease.
• Prismatic Glass: colorful reflections around the fold.
• Smoked Glass: darker tint with blur and shading.
• Screen Flow: a page-turn animation made from recent images of your screen.

🎨 Adjust effects in Studio

Change effect strength to adjust shading, reflections and tint. Set glass blur, shade hold and opening speed, or tune Screen Flow's page turn and frost. Preview opening and closing before applying your changes.

Glass and shade effects can stay visible while your phone is partly folded.

📊 Unfold counter and activity

• Count unfolds even with effects turned off.
• See your daily activity in a heatmap and charts, with ranges from one week to a year.
• Compare daily inner and cover screen use.
• Add a home screen widget for today's count or your heatmap.
• Add a starting count for unfolds recorded before FlipFold.

Choose a heatmap color and tap a day or chart to explore your history. Each unfold counts once; close your phone before the next count. A starting count adds to your total without recreating past daily activity.

Screen use includes the time FlipFold could track while your phone was unlocked and the screen was on.

Soft Shade, today's unfold count and the daily count widget are free.

A one-time lifetime purchase adds the other four effects, activity history, heatmaps, charts, inner and cover screen use, heatmap widgets and a starting count. No subscription. The price and Restore purchase option are shown in the app.

📱 Phone support

Made for foldable phones running Android 13 or newer. FlipFold checks fold detection and blur availability, then guides you through setup. Effect timing depends on the fold information your phone provides.

ℹ️ Samsung Galaxy Z Fold limitations

Clear Glass, Prismatic Glass and Smoked Glass need Android's window blur. On some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phones, blur is unavailable even with "Allow window-level blurs" turned on. You may see Soft Shade instead of the glass effect.

Screen Flow does not need window blur, but users have also reported missing or uneven transitions on Galaxy Z Fold phones. Fold activity and Soft Shade do not need blur either. Try the effects on your phone before buying. Lifetime unlock does not remove these limitations.

🔒 Permissions and privacy

Effects need permission to display over other apps. Screen Flow also uses Android AccessibilityService, with your consent, to capture recent screen images, including other apps, and prepare its page-turn animation.

Images stay in memory and are never saved or shared. FlipFold does not inspect text or control other apps. Screen access is optional; fold counting, glass and shade effects do not use it. Turn off effects to stop capture, or remove access in Android Accessibility settings.

🛠️ Reports and support

If a transition is missing, uneven or shows a black screen, open Settings > Reports & support and record a fold. Share the report to help investigate the issue.

Fold 6. allow window blur in checks in dev settings soon as i leave. sent my report to ya. great work so far regardless. looking for to future updates. the folding community will definitely help and enjoy this. . so far the first effect only works. just needs some smoothing out. as far as the settings of the blur. idk if its cuz i just got my recent update to Android 17 or oneui 9.

Cool idea! Lotta bugs, needs more polish, lack of app design customization post-vibe code. I know it's vibe coded because I also vibe coded an android app and it came out lookin visually just like that. But that's when you start vibe coding the visual design of your app. Using on a z fold 8 and couldn't get to work. Keep it up!

Pretty cool app, the developer maintains great communication; still needs a little bit of work, but overall great first attempt. Will update review in future when the little things get sorted out.
