About this app

Tornado Gallery turns your private photos into unreadable visual noise, and gives them back to you, pixel-perfect, whenever you need them.

How it works
Pick any image from your gallery. Enter a passphrase. Tornado Gallery runs a native encryption engine directly on your device and transforms your photo into what looks like a glitched, broken image, random colored pixels with no recognizable content. No one looking at your gallery, your drive, or your shoulder will see anything meaningful. When you want the original back, enter the same passphrase and the image is fully restored with zero quality loss.

Why it matters
Standard gallery apps expose your photos to anyone who picks up your phone. Cloud storage providers scan and analyze your uploads. Screen lock protects nothing once the device is unlocked. Tornado Gallery adds a layer of visual security that works even when your phone is in someone else's hands.

Key features

Visual encryption — photos become indistinguishable pixel noise
Passphrase-based — no accounts, no biometrics, no servers
100% local processing — nothing ever leaves your device
Lossless recovery — original image restored exactly, no compression artifacts
Safe to store anywhere — encrypted files can live in your gallery or any cloud drive without exposing content
Folder-based workflow — organized encrypted storage built into the app
Open source — inspect the app layer code yourself
Who it's for
Anyone who keeps sensitive photos on their phone and wants real protection that doesn't rely on hoping nobody scrolls too far — journalists, professionals, or anyone who values visual privacy.

Tornado Gallery does one thing and does it correctly: it makes your private images unreadable until you say otherwise.
