About this app

How many packs of laminate to buy for a room, and how to lay the planks so that less of the material ends up as waste. The calculator answers both: it gives the number of packs, builds the laying scheme row by row, and produces a cut list you can actually cut by.

The count follows the rules of laying rather than dividing room area by plank area. The expansion gap, the joint offset between rows and the minimum plank length are all taken into account — the same constraints manufacturers put in their instructions.

WHAT IT WORKS OUT
• How many planks and packs a room needs
• Several layout options, sorted by how many planks they consume
• The share of waste in the material you buy
• Offcuts with an intact lock are reused at the start or end of later rows

LAYING PARAMETERS
• Direction: along the length or along the width of the room
• Expansion gap from the walls
• Joint offset: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 of the plank length, or an exact value
• Minimum plank length: nothing shorter gets laid
• The pattern start is chosen so that in every row both the first and the last plank stay at or above that minimum

SCHEME AND CUT LIST
• A laying scheme with numbered planks and their sizes
• A cut list: every row plank by plank, reusable leftovers and waste
• The scheme saves to PDF, the cut list sends as text

MILLIMETRES OR FEET
Metric, or imperial in feet and inches with fractions down to 1/16". You can switch systems at any point — the sizes already typed are converted for you.

TEN LANGUAGES
English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese. The language is picked on first launch and can be changed later in settings.

NO INTERNET, NO ADS
The app requests no permissions and never goes online: the whole calculation runs on your device. No ads, no account, no data collection.

WHO IT IS FOR
Anyone laying a floor themselves who wants the exact number of packs before the trip to the shop. And anyone laying floors for a living: the scheme and the cut list can be sent straight to a client or a workmate.

What’s new

• Feet and inches: the whole calculation in imperial units, with fractional inches down to 1/16.
• Cut list: every piece, row by row, right on the layout screen.
• Language and unit system are asked once at first launch, remembered, and changed later from the gear on
the form.
• New look: background and cards picked up from the app icon.
• Fixes: error messages are no longer cut off, the form scrolls with the keyboard open, and the inches
maximum is now 11 15/16".
