Whenly is a location reminder app that waits for the right real-world moment instead of the right time — where you are, what the weather is doing, and whether your calendar is clear.
Most reminders only know what the clock says. Whenly stays quiet until the moment actually lines up, then speaks up once.

Every part is a tap. No rules to configure, no triggers to wire together, no automation builder to learn.
WHAT IT CAN WAIT FOR
— Location reminders: arriving at, or leaving, a place you saved. Pick it on a map. Uses your phone's GPS and Android geofencing.
— Time and date: a time of day, certain weekdays, a day of the month, the last workday of the month.
— Weather reminders: rain on the way, staying dry, high UV, hot, cold.
— Calendar reminders: only when your diary is clear, or only when it is busy.
Combine them freely. "When I leave home and rain is on the way." "At the weekend and my calendar is clear." "When I get to the office on the last workday of the month."
VOICE REMINDERS: JUST SAY IT
Tap the microphone and say "water the plants when I get home". Whenly separates what to remind you from when, and shows you what it understood before anything is saved. Voice input is handled by your phone's own speech recognition — no recording is sent anywhere.
IT TELLS YOU WHY IT FIRED
Every reminder keeps its own record: when it last checked, and what it noticed the moment it went off — "You're at the pharmacy, and the UV is 8." If a reminder goes quiet, you can tell whether it decided not to fire or never ran at all.

No account. No sign-up. No subscription. No ads. No analytics, no crash reporting, nothing watching how you use it. Privacy here is the architecture, not a policy page.
There is no Whenly server, so there is nothing on one. Your reminders, the places you save, anything you speak, and whatever it reads from your calendar never leave your phone.
The one exception is stated plainly inside the app: when a reminder actually needs the forecast, one rough position — blurred to about a kilometre, with no name or identifier attached — is sent to a free weather service. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap while you are choosing a place.
EASY ON YOUR BATTERY
Whenly does not poll. Each reminder registers exactly one thing for Android to wake it for — a geofence crossing or a scheduled check — and works everything else out only in that moment. Nothing runs in the background until there is a reason to.
Location, time and date reminders work offline. Only weather conditions need a connection.
WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOU INSTALL
— Arrival and departure reminders need background location access. Android has required precise location for geofencing since Android 10, so this cannot be optional.
— Weather conditions need a network connection at the moment a reminder is checked.
— Calendar conditions need permission to read your calendar, asked for only when you first use one.
— There is no sync and no backup. Your reminders live on this phone.
— Some manufacturers stop background apps aggressively. If reminders stop arriving, exempt Whenly from battery optimisation in your system settings.
