About this app

FM Radio Open is a simple shortcut to the FM Radio app that is already on your phone. It adds no radio of its own, so please read the compatibility notes below before installing.

WHERE IT WORKS
Both of these must be true:
• Your phone has an FM tuner chip — common on mid-range and budget Android phones
• Your manufacturer shipped an FM Radio app — Samsung, Xiaomi/MIUI, Huawei, MediaTek, Qualcomm, Lenovo, Motorola, OPPO, realme and vivo builds are recognised

You will also usually need wired earphones plugged in, because the cable acts as the aerial. Without them the radio opens but reception is weak or silent. That is how FM on phones works, not a fault in this app.

WHERE IT DOES NOT WORK
• Phones with no FM tuner — most flagships, including recent Pixels. No app can add the hardware.
• Phones where the manufacturer removed the radio app, even if the chip is there. Many vendors dropped it after Android 10.
• Emulators and cloud test devices, which have neither.

In those cases the app tells you plainly that no radio app was found, and stops. It will not pretend to tune, and it will never quietly stream something else over the internet instead.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• It does not stream internet radio or podcasts
• It does not transmit or broadcast FM
• It does not record

If the button reports that no radio was found, your phone has no usable offline FM path, and uninstalling is the honest answer.

FM Radio Open opens the FM Radio app already built into your phone, in one tap.

It needs a phone with an FM tuner and a manufacturer radio app, and usually wired earphones as the aerial. If your phone has none of these, the app says so plainly instead of leaving you guessing. It does not stream, record or transmit.
