Classic Mangala: 12 wells, 4 stones per well, a total of 48 stones, and the complete rule set in tournament format. Played offline, you'll face a 4-level AI that doesn't cheat.
Mangala is a Turkish intelligence game that has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, from village squares to neighborhood coffee houses. Mangala Master brings this game to your pocket, faithfully adhering to its rules — not a shortened, "simplified," or corrupted version with enhancements.
WHY MANGALA MASTER?
• Complete rule set: 12 wells, 4 stones per well, a total of 48 stones (in-game, stones are called "soldiers," and the treasure is called "headquarters"). Single-stone exception, double capture, empty well capture, and the first player to vacate their area at the end of the game taking the remaining soldiers on the board — details that most Mangala apps skip or confuse are included here. • Uncheating AI: 4 levels (Easy, Medium, Hard, Master), a truly calculating opponent with a minimax algorithm — Easy sees two moves ahead, Master sees eight moves ahead. The AI plays by the same rules as you, it doesn't gain troops from behind. • Offline gameplay: the entire match runs on your device; you can continue single-player matches on planes, subways, or in areas with no signal. • 2-player pass-and-play: put your phone on the table and take turns playing with your opponent — no need for a second device or account. • Mastery Points: your rank is updated after each match, showing your progress numerically. • Daily tasks, series tracking, and achievements make playing regularly a habit. You can turn on daily reminders if you want; they are off by default. • Feel every troop shot and every capture with audio and haptic feedback.
PREPARING FOR THE SCHOOL TOURNAMENT
You'll practice with the same rule set as in middle school mangala tournaments: single-stone exception, double capture, empty pit capture, and endgame rule, just like in the tournament. Start with Easy and work your way up to Master (the opponent who can see eight moves ahead); practice matches with a school friend on the same phone in 2-player mode. Mastery Points are updated after each match, showing you how far you've progressed until the tournament. Since no internet is required, you can practice on the school bus, during recess, or on vacation.
HOW DO ADS WORK?
No power-ups, no energy bars, no waiting timers, no subscriptions. A short full-screen ad appears every other match after the match ends — never in the middle of the game.
HOW TO PLAY?
The player whose turn it is chooses a filled pit in their area; one of the soldiers in that pit remains in place, and the remaining ones are distributed one by one to neighboring pits in a counter-clockwise direction. If there is only one soldier in the well you choose, you only move it to the well to its right — this is the single-stone exception. If the last soldier lands in your own base, you play another turn. If the last soldier lands in an opponent's well and evens the number of soldiers there, you capture the entire well. If the last soldier lands in your own empty well and the opponent's well directly opposite is full, you take both the soldiers from that well and your own soldier to your base. The game ends when a player's area is completely empty, and the player who first empties their area takes all the remaining soldiers on the board to their own base. A short tutorial will prepare you for the game in a few minutes — even if you know nothing about mangala.
