Fobber: Your People Abroad

Sammuel

About this app

Fobber is for people living outside the country they're from.

Where do you get the food you grew up with? Which restaurant actually tastes like
home, and which one only looks the part? Where do you buy the ingredients you can't
find in a normal supermarket? Who cuts your hair the way you like it? Which hospital
has someone you can explain yourself to?

The people who answer these best are the ones who came from where you came from, and
who live where you live now.

Fobber connects you with them.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• See local information on a map
Restaurants that taste like home. Grocery stores that carry what you need. Salons,
clinics, services. Places that people from your country have actually been to and
recommended — not generic ratings from people whose situation is nothing like yours.

• Follow your own community
Posts are grouped by where you're from and where you live now. You see what's
relevant to people in your situation, not an undifferentiated global feed.

• Join interest communities
Beyond your neighbourhood — communities around what you care about, with people
who share your background.

• Message one to one
Found someone helpful? Talk to them directly.

BUILT ON TRUST

Every account is verified by phone number. You can additionally verify your nationality,
so you know the people you're talking to are who they say they are. No anonymous
throwaway accounts.

WHO IT'S FOR

Students, workers, immigrants, and anyone who has moved to a new country and wants to
find people from home nearby — whatever country you came from, whatever country you're in.

Fobber works in 33 languages.
