FocusGuard helps you break free from addictive short-form video content without giving up Instagram or YouTube entirely. Block Reels and Shorts while keeping full access to everything else — your feed, DMs, stories, and subscriptions stay completely untouched.

When you navigate to Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, FocusGuard instantly displays a blocking overlay. You can tap Go Back to leave immediately, or grant yourself a 5-minute by pass when you genuinely want a break. After the bypass expires, blocking resumes automatically — no willpower required.

FocusGuard is 100% offline. It collects zero personal data, has no account system, no backend server, and never connects to the internet. Everything — your settings, block counts, and usage stats — stays on your device only. Nothing ever leaves it.

Permissions explained:
FocusGuard requires two permissions to work. The Accessibility Service monitors only the Instagram and YouTube apps to detect when Reels or Shorts is active — it does not read messages, passwords, or any personal content. The Display Over Other Apps permission allows the blocking overlay to appear on screen. Neither permission is used to collect or transmit any data.
