Sugar Cross is an offline brain game you can play anywhere, with no internet connection and no wifi.

Drop pieces to build your path, and cut off the path your rival is building. The board changes with every move, so a memorised opening will never carry you - you have to read the position.

Works on the subway, on a bus, on a plane, in a basement car park with no signal. Airplane mode is fine. Both the computer matches and the two player matches run fully offline. No sign-up, no login, no account - download it and start.

■ HOW TO PLAY (one minute to learn)
1. Pick Cookie Dugi or Marshmallow Rosty.
2. Choose a piece from the tray below and double-tap to rotate it.
3. Drop it onto the board. Pieces fall and stack.
4. Connect your own tiles left-to-right, or top-to-bottom, before your rival does.

That is the whole rule set. But your opponent is building toward the same goal, so every turn you choose between extending your own path and cutting theirs. One wrong placement flips the match.

Q. Does it work without internet?
A. Yes. Matches need no server. Only the global leaderboard uses a connection, and without one the game simply skips the leaderboard and plays normally.

Q. Can I play alone?
A. Yes - play the computer opponent at the difficulty you want.

Q. Can two people play?
A. Yes, two players share one device. One phone is all you need.

Q. Can I remove the ads?
A. A single optional purchase removes banner and interstitial ads permanently, and lets you use Undo and Reroll without watching anything. The full game is free without it.

Q. How long is a match?
A. An 8x8 game takes a few minutes. Pick 12x12 when you want a longer session.
