Guide To Termux is the companion app for Termux — a hands-on library of Termux commands, fixes and step-by-step recipes that are actually verified on a real device before they ship.
Most Termux guides online are copied, outdated, or were never tested. Links rot, packages get renamed, mirrors go stale, and you are left pasting commands that simply do not work. Guide To Termux is built the opposite way: every recipe is run on a real Android device and stamped with the date it was last checked. If it is in the app, it worked.
WHY PEOPLE USE IT
• Verified, not copied — each recipe shows a freshness badge (Maintained, Stale, Archived) so you always know whether it still works.
• Works fully offline — the whole library is bundled in the app. No account, no sign-up, no connection required from the very first launch.
• No ads. No interstitials. No paywall. No "premium" lock on real content. Ever.
• One-tap run — send a command straight to Termux, or copy it, without retyping a single character.
• Knows your Termux — the app detects which Termux build you have (Google Play or F-Droid / GitHub) and only shows controls that actually work on it.
WHAT IS INSIDE
• Setup — which Termux to install, first-run setup, storage access, and keeping it up to date.
• Fixes — the errors everyone hits: "Unable to locate package", slow or failing pkg update, broken mirrors, repositories and keyring problems.
• Packages & tools — install and use Python, Node.js, Git, SSH, yt-dlp, nmap, and many more, with commands that are tested, not guessed.
• Recipes — real projects: serve a folder over your network, back up and restore your whole Termux, run a desktop over VNC, connect shared storage, and more.
• Security Lab — an optional, clearly-gated track that explains how common attacks work and how to defend against them, for learning on systems you own or are allowed to test.
• Toolbox — save your favourite recipes, keep your own command snippets, and revisit what you viewed recently.
BUILT TO BE FAIR
This app exists because the older Termux helper apps went unmaintained and filled up with dead links and aggressive ads. Guide To Termux is deliberately the opposite: honest, offline, ad-free, and kept current. Light and dark themes, English and Nepali, and a clean modern interface throughout.
A NOTE ON TERMUX
Termux is a separate, free, open-source app. Guide To Termux is an independent companion and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of the Termux project or its maintainers. You install Termux yourself from Google Play or F-Droid / GitHub; this app helps you use it well.
