FrancLi is a collaborative language-learning app built around how people actually speak, not how a dictionary says they should.
Instead of relying on automated translations, FrancLi brings together people who speak different native languages but share a common language of conversation (a lingua franca). From there, language learning becomes personal, social, and authentic.
HOW FrancLi WORKS
• Each group has a shared language library
• Members can add sentences and individual words
• All content is first added in the lingua franca of the group
• One untranslated sentence is selected from the library
• Members proficient in their own native language translate it manually
• Translations and the included words are added back into the library
Over time, the library becomes a multilingual resource where:
• One sentence exists in multiple languages
• Words are connected across languages
• Every translation reflects how a real person would say it
PRONUNCIATION, AUDIO, AND NOTES
• Add pronunciation guides for translations
• Upload audio pronunciations to hear native speech
• Add notes for cultural context, tone, or usage
This helps learners understand how something is actually spoken, not just what it means.
WHY FrancLi IS DIFFERENT
Most language apps rely on:
• Automated translations
• Generic examples
• One “correct” way to say something
FrancLi:
• All translations are manual
• Translations are personal and native
• Meaning is shaped by real context
You are not just learning a translation.
You are learning how that person would say it.
LEARN OR CREATE ANY LANGUAGE
FrancLi is not limited to existing languages.
• Create your own language
• Build a sign language
• Design a code or symbolic language
As long as your group agrees on meanings and translations, FrancLi supports it.
WHO FrancLi IS FOR
• Friends or communities with different native languages
• Language learners who want real, native usage
• Multilingual groups with a shared working language
• Creators experimenting with new forms of communication
• Your "precious" ones
THE GOAL
FrancLi is not about memorization.
It is about connection.
