About this app
Meihua I-Ching brings two classical Chinese divination systems into one app: Meihua Yishu (Plum Blossom Numerology) and the Liu Yao coin oracle. One casts from the moment, the other from coins you toss yourself. Each stands on its own — choose the one that fits your question.
MEIHUA (PLUM BLOSSOM NUMEROLOGY)
Attributed to Shao Yong, a Northern Song dynasty scholar of the Yijing, and named after his famous plum-blossom reading. At its heart lie two principles: cast only when the heart stirs, and trust the correspondence of the moment. The time, direction, and thought of the instant you cast are no coincidence — they correspond to the very matter you ask about.
Two casting methods are provided:
- Direction: derive numbers from your compass direction — the most objective
- Number: speak the first number that comes to mind
Each casting yields the principal, mutual, and changed hexagrams with the moving line, then reads them through the Ti-Yong method: five-element relationships and seasonal strength, alongside the classical hexagram text for reference and study.
LIU YAO COIN ORACLE
Descended from the Han dynasty Najia system, replacing yarrow stalks with three coins: each toss fixes one line, six tosses build the hexagram, and the mix of heads and tails decides yin, yang, and movement. The finished chart adds earthly branches, Self and Other lines, the six relatives, and the six gods — one of the most complete and widely practiced systems.
Unlike Meihua, you toss the coins yourself: one question, one casting. Cast in the app, or toss your own coins and enter each line from bottom to top.
YOUR OWN CASEBOOK
Note what you asked and what stirred you. When the matter resolves, come back and mark the reading as fulfilled, partly fulfilled, or unfulfilled, and record how things turned out — over time you build a casebook of your own.
Sign in to sync your history across devices. Your account and all data can be deleted at any time from the Account tab, with nothing left behind.
