Basic Information
Number of Players: 2
Board Size: 15×15 (Can also be 13×13 or 19×19 as variations)
Piece Colors: Black and White, each player plays one color
Objective: The first player to form a continuous chain of five pieces of the same color horizontally, vertically, or diagonally on the board wins
Detailed Game Rules
1. Opening Rules
Black moves first (a ""forbidden move"" rule can be used to mitigate the advantage of the first move, see below)
The board starts empty
2. Move Rules
Players take turns placing one of their pieces at an intersection on the board
Once a piece is placed, it cannot be moved or withdrawn (no undoing unless agreed upon).
3. Winning/Losing
The first player to form five consecutive pieces in any straight line wins.
More than five consecutive pieces (e.g., six in a row) are still considered a win.
For example, ⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫ (six in a row) is also considered a win.
Draw Rules
If the board is full and no one has formed five consecutive pieces, the game is considered a draw."
