Migrights is an information and communication tool aimed at the most vulnerable groups of migrants, to report violations of which they are victims, to draw public attention to these abuses, and to help them access their rights .
Migrants face numerous violations, such as discrimination, exploitation and marginalization, and often live in hiding. They are victims of extreme violence, torture and inhumane treatment, both in their country of origin and during their migration. They fear filing a complaint and do not receive adequate support.

In Tunisia, which is now a country of residence for migrants from sub-Saharan Africa, a significant number of irregular migrants work precariously in various sectors (cafes, restaurants, security, construction, seasonal agriculture and domestic help). This fragile situation allows employers to exploit them without incurring significant costs, while this reality is often presented as an opportunity for social integration for migrants without legal status.

Even before the current crisis, migrants faced difficult conditions due to their illegal status and violent racist practices. The lack of information about their rights and the precariousness of their situation have worsened their crisis. The Covid-19 pandemic has destabilized the fragile lives of refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and stateless people. Despite the actions of human rights organizations and civil initiatives, efforts remain insufficient to protect these vulnerable groups who suffer from social exclusion and poverty, without resources to survive during the pandemic. Their administrative situation further complicates their living conditions.

The Migrights app will provide up-to-date information to refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and stateless people, to improve their situation, protect them from violations and meet their basic needs. It will monitor violations and support the protection of rights. Its role is not limited to collecting information: it will identify and investigate violations, diagnose their causes, propose solutions and means of support to guarantee the access of these groups to their rights, according to human rights standards.

As an advocacy tool, Migrights aims to bring about positive change for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, and to defend and protect their rights. It aspires to bring about change in favor of these vulnerable groups, whether at the level of policies, laws, programs or projects.
