Game Rules: Pentrix (Five in a Row)
Basic Information
Number of Players: 2
Board Size: 15×15 (can also be 13×13 or 19×19 as variations)
Piece Colors: Black and white, one player takes one color.
Objective: The first player to connect five consecutive pieces of the same color horizontally, vertically, or diagonally on the board wins.
Detailed Game Rules
1. Opening Rules
Black moves first (a "forbidden move" rule can be used to balance the first player's advantage, see below)
The initial board is empty.
2. Placement Rules
Players take turns placing one of their pieces on the intersections of the board.
Once a piece is placed, it cannot be moved or withdrawn (no take-backs unless agreed upon by both players).
3. Determining the Winner
The first player to form a five-in-a-row of their pieces on any straight line wins.
Anything beyond five consecutive pieces (e.g., a six-in-a-row) still results in a win.
For example: ⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫ (a six-in-a-row) also counts as a win.
Draw Rule
If the board is full and no one has formed a five-in-a-row, the game is a draw.
