The game is fun, cute, and easy to get into. Easily 5 stars, however, there is a bug that is making it far less enjoyable: whenever there is a boss on the field the mana costs go up 5x. I have 3 abilities costing 177, but if the boss is out, it uses well over 700. That makes progression a lot more difficult, especially as it is not mentioned anywhere as to be intended.

It's a fun game that you can enjoy the general gameplay loop without paying or watching any ads and I've given it 3 stars for that. After digging into it, however, I found the developers recently changed the event system to make it so you literally cannot unlock the event cat without paying (while previous versions of the game did not require payment to do so). As soon as actual content is locked behind a paywall, particularly when it wasn't previously, a poor rating is deserved.

It started out a lot of fun, with enjoyable gameplay and of course cute kitties. The kitty cafe and different levels have also been fun, but its become very grindy. Normally I don't mind that, but almost everything given freely to you in other apps, like auto battle, is a paid feature. There are also event kitties you can 'earn' by beating waves, but the events end so fast the only way you can actually get the event prizes is (surprise surprise) to pay to get them. Bummed out!
